Sheet 1: Factors that influence quality of life
Introduction
Meet at Stratford station. Point out visible changes that could affect quality of life, including transport, shopping and housing. Explain that one of the Olympic legacy aims was to improve living standards in east London. Discuss what fieldwork methods could be used to assess quality of life.

Fieldwork
Location 1: Carpenters Estate E15 Walk to the estate. Explain that this area is unchanged since pre-2012. Introduce environmental quality assessment. Introduce other possible fieldwork methods to assess quality of life, including housing and crime risk surveys. Students select which techniques to use.
Location 2: Stratford Town Centre Walk to town centre to carry out questionnaire and high street survey. Students could be split into two groups.
Location 3: East Village E20 Walk to East Village. Explain that this area was the Athletes Village in 2012. Repeat EQA, surveys and questionnaire in East Village.
